School trips

Both directors of SYMBAND are or were school governors at different levels of education, and fully support a rounded curriculum which can (or indeed should) include the opportunity for foreign travel for all pupils. As such, we actively encourage organisers of educational or recreational school trips abroad to contact us directly via the contacts page for a bulk order of Symbands for your traveling students at an advantageous rate, equal to the wholesale rate available to retailers which is normally reserved for orders of over 50. The delivery will have to be made to a named teacher/worker at a recognised educational establishment in order to be eligible for the reduced rate and be for a minimum of 12 Symbands.
Here is a radio interview with a teacher and the head girl from Roding Valley High School in Loughton, Essex that sent 9 pupils with staff to Zambia to help build and maintain a free school for children whose parents, if still alive, could not afford to send them to school. The school also provides the kids with their main meal of the day.
Although not mentioned, they were all supplied with Symbands (free of charge) prior to setting off.

Once in Zambia, the pupils at the school they were visiting LOVED the Symbands, and found them a gret resource for learning new words, an added benefit perhaps! Here is one local student with the Symband she was given:
